After my last weekend in Franklin, I flew over to Nazareth for a couple of weeks to spend time with the Dunfords before Julie's wedding. I was disappointed that Nate and I wouldn't be together for Halloween, but that disappointment was eased when I realized that I'd get to take Max trick-or-treating with Maddie and Logan.
The week before Halloween, Lori, Max, and I drove over to the elementary school to see Maddie and Logan show off their costumes in the student parade. Maddie was a Southern belle, and Logan was a red ninja.
The church had a trunk-or-treat, so I dressed up me and Max as a mama gnome and a baby elf. The hats and my skirt are the only things I had to purchase for our costumes. Total cost: $5.
I was sad that Nate wasn't around. He was going to be a papa dwarf. He would have fit the part. He'd been growing a massive beard that only lasted a few hours once we got together again. This is the picture I took in our hotel the night before Julie's wedding.
Anyway, back home in Utah Nate was a bearded zombie who had been killed by a shot-put ball. Adobe had a huge Halloween bash with themed rooms. Nate's office did Hell-lympics.
I hope to have a family theme next year, but chances are it won't happen if Nate's work dictates his Halloween attire. Boo. I considered going along with Nate's zombie costume, but the idea of making Max a dead, flesh-eating baby for his first Halloween wasn't very appealing.
Anyway, after all this... Hurricane Sandy came along and delayed trick-or-treating until the weekend of the wedding. We didn't end up getting to go, so Lori let us eat all the white-cheddar popcorn she had bought for the trick-or-treaters. Max loved it, so I was happy.

I kind of miss my beard. It was fun.
