Weekend with the Famdamily

Friday was my Aunt Sue's birthday, and all three of her kids were in town. Grandma Martin, Missie, and her fiance, Coco, drove up from Florida. Bill drove over from Indiana, and Jimmy already lives here. We all went out to eat and had a little too much fun talking about the good ol' days. It felt like a little reunion of sorts. I was happy that they all got to meet Max, but sad that Nate couldn't be here.

Saturday, we went to Volant to the Amish shops and to Daffins and Kraynaks in Sharon. I left Max with my mom for his longest time without me to date. From what I hear, he did just fine as long as he got his food on time. He was even laughing awhile with my parents before we got home. I don't think he even noticed I was gone. I was glad to hear it because I was able to enjoy myself. In fact, as we were leaving the house, I threw up my empty arms and shouted, "I'm young again!" And of course the first thing I said when I got home was, "Where's my boy?"

Today, everyone went to church and doubled the attendance in sacrament meeting. I jest. Franklin ward has always been small, but it's actually not as small as usual. My dad is the Bishop (again) and conducted the meeting. It was good to see him up there again. He was in the Stake Presidency for 14 years of my youth, so I didn't get to see him at church very often. I'm hoping that I'll get to hear him speak at least once while I'm here.
