max saves the day

Alas, Nate must continue his externship despite my being here in D.C. He had a hard time heading out the door this morning, but I assured him that we'd be here when he gets back. Like this was a concern. I didn't know what else to say besides, "Stay home! Yes! Great idea!" and so chose the more good-wifey thing to say.

So far, I've done some laundry, played with Max, showered, eaten lunch, played with Max, done some reading, played with Max, uploaded some photos, played with Max... hmm... Max and I were kinda "over" each other by about this point. I mean, I love the kid... but he gets bored, and my arms get tired. Besides the play mat and his swing, I don't have much here to put in the rotation. I was actually wishing I'd brought the Bumbo even though Max only lasts a few minutes in it before struggling to get out. So I plopped Max in the laundry basket and thought he looked so cute, he only lasted a few minutes in it before I pulled him back out to smother him in kisses. Problem, not solved.

All this is to say that I haven't gotten much done.

Oh, and I set off the fire alarm while making toast.

But look at how cute Max is!

And so, while our clean laundry now smells like smoke, I'll give Nate another lame line when he asks how my day went... "Um, alright. Oh, but look at how cute Max is!"
