April 10th

We went into the city yesterday to visit Nate's work and to see a few sites we missed last time. Max had his first trip through security and got his very own name tag. All of Nate's female coworkers were practically fighting over holding Max. He has a thing with the ladies.

Jefferson Memorial

The Supreme Court

Library of Congress
Jefferson's library was the best part, but no photos were allowed.

The Capitol Building
We were the last people to make it in for a tour that day. Lucky.

Dinner
Nate's favorite restaurant in D.C. (so far) is Cafe 8 (Turkish). We went last time I was here and were craving it all day.

Dessert
Hazelnut Praline Salted Caramel and Red Velvet Macarons from The Sweet Lobby (featured on the Food Network, so we were told)

We realized while talking on the Metro on the way home that it was the two year anniversary of when we got engaged. And we agreed that everything we do is ten times more fun with our big fluffy (fofao) in tow. That's Max's new Portuguese nickname thanks to Nate. Anyway, I'd say we celebrated pretty well for not planning on it.
