The day after Max turned two, we decorated a bit and put up some Christmas lights on our front porch. The next day, Nate stayed home from work and we took the boys to see Frozen. Max watched the entire thing with popcorn in his lap. We ate lunch for the last time at a local burger and shake place that closed shortly after. The church Christmas devotional was that Saturday, so we watched while Max played with a train table that a friend gave us. I made Max a tape trail for his cars by the Christmas tree.
The Dunfords were passing through the following weekend. Our ward Christmas party was Friday the 13th, and Maddy helped me make soup to take. I used for the first time a basil oil and majorly overdid it, so I ended up diluting the soup over and over... My freezer is now filled with soup. We went up to Temple Square to see the Christmas lights the next day, and the Dunfords left Sunday.
The following week, Nate and I attempted sweet rolls: cinnamon with pecans, candy cane, and pumpkin. Our yeast wasn't the best, but the fillings were great... so we just ate them ourselves. So we made brownies for his coworkers and my visiting teachees. We made three versions: peppermint, orange, and cinnamon cayenne.
Sandra came into town again (she was around a lot those months) and came with us to their cousin Rebecca's reception. They had these ham and cheese sandwiches dusted with powdered sugar that were surprisingly good. And Rebecca looked super happy. That, too.
The Andersons came into town for the holidays, and we decorated a gingerbread house, exchanged presents, and watched a movie. I had made Nash a Minecraft TNT pencil holder, and we gave Haven a book and gave Glen a stuffed owl. They gave Max a moon light (LOVE it). Liz and I gave each other gifts as well. We left the next day for Snowflake.

Love Oliver's face!
