My hometown friend, Kelly, came for a visit the weekend before Thanksgiving. We spent her first evening here catching up and reminiscing, and I introduced her to Cafe Rio. The next day we headed south to Provo so I could show her where I went to school and lived for seven years. We went to a spot on the edge of the mountains that overlooked the town and then headed to a favorite lunch spot for pupusas. I drove her out to Squaw Peak and up to Sundance as well. Being November, it was probably what I would consider the least pretty time of year, but Kelly still thought it was beautiful... and it is. We even saw wild turkeys! How appropriate.
Sandra was in town for the weekend, so Kelly and I hopped in a car with Deborah while Sandra rode with Nate and the boys out to the salt flats. They really are worth the trip and not at all what I expected. I thought the salt would be loose like sand when it's actually slightly damp feeling and super hard. We had fun taking pictures and watching Max play.
Kelly's visit flew by, but I'm so glad she made the trip. At some point I need to visit her in Atlanta and have her show me a bit of the good ol' south!
