Adobe

Nate has been working in the new Adobe building since the beginning of November and frequently talks about the perks - the gym, the basketball court, pellet ice, a soda fountain, a breakfast cafe, a music room, a fireplace, the "bunker" game room, etc. He took me on a tour, and last Friday Adobe had a Christmas party for employees and their significant others. I now have a good idea of what Nate talks about all the time. The building is massive... a combination of a cruise ship and a museum. Nate's boss thinks it also resembles a prison with its concrete floors and rows of glass-front offices. There is a hand-painted mural, wire installation art, a grand piano, walls of magazines, and a climbing wall. On top of all this, they have these parties... and bring in tents, outdoor heaters, trampolines, fire pits for roasting marshmallows, sushi bars made of ice, acrobats, Storm Troopers, Darth Vader, Chewbacca, countless glow sticks, live bands, virtual reality games, Segway scooters, fortune tellers, oxygen bars, masseuses, and various food stations. It was amazing.

Nate volunteered the day of the Christmas party to be an usher for VIPs - Governor Herbert, Senator Hatch, Congressman Matheson, Congressman Chaffetz, the Adobe founders, Adobe's current CEO, and others.

We left the party before they served dessert, so the caterer gave me a cake pop!
